HIST 106 - Black Death Paper - FA2024

This paper is assigned in Week 13.

Black Death Paper Overview

In Week Thirteen, you will be submitting a 5-page paper on the causes and consequences of the Black Death. I will provide you with several resources to use in your essay, and you will also be required to integrate one additional substantial source that you will work on locating in Week 6.

In this paper, you will be expected to consider the factors that allowed for the onset and spread of the disease in the 14th century, the impact on society (religious, cultural, and economic), and the lasting impact/legacy of the Black Death. In your paper, you'll respond to all of the following questions:

  • What factors allowed for the onset and spread of the disease in the 14th century?
  • What impact did this have on society (religious, cultural, economic)?
  • What is the lasting impact/legacy of the Black Death?
