There are thousands of religions being practiced throughout the world. According to the Encyclopedia of American Religions, there are over 1000 Christian denominations in the United States alone. Yet, for many of us, our exposure to the religions of the world are limited to what we have experienced within our families, via our friendship circles, and through media and popular culture.
Here is a list of local faith communities located in Stanislaus County. It is not an exhaustive list, but a useful place to start exploring religion and religious expression in the local community.
