Now available: Get your free access to credible news sources through Library & Learning Center institutional subscriptions. Digital versions of these newspapers and new sources are available to you free of charge as an MJC student, staff, or faculty member. 

All of the below sources are listed alphabetically in Articles & Databases by name. In some cases, you download the app to read the publication; in the case of the Modesto Bee, you read it via the database platform Access World News. Read on for details:   

The New York Times

• Use these instructions to access your free MJC account with The New York Times. 

The Wall Street Journal

• Create account here. Note: You will be prompted to first  enter your MJC single sign-on credentials, after which you can create the account. 

The Atlantic

• To learn how to sign-in and to download The Atlantic app, follow these instructions. 

The Modesto Bee

To access The Modesto Bee in this manner, you must enter through the MJC's Articles & Databases > Access World News database. 

•  Free Acesss to the digital (daily) Modesto Bee

•  Free Access to the digital version of the print Modesto Bee (Sunday, Wendesday, and Friday)

  If you are off campus, you will need to sign in the same way that you sign in to your canvas shell or your e-mail
