Research Skills Tutorial Replaces LIBR901,902,903 Courses

The L & LC has implemented a new iteration of those beloved online Information Literacy modules, formerly referred to as LIBR901, 902, and 903. These have been combined into the Research Skills Tutorial, one six-module, Canvas tutorial into which students self-enroll.

Basics about the New Research Skills Tutorial

  • Students can no longer earn a certificate of completion for passing the sequence & it will not appear on transcripts. This is not an official MJC class.
  • Students have unlimited attempts to pass the quizzes. There are no quiz resets; students can just click the Retake Quiz button if they need a do-over.
  • Passing the quizzes requires 100% on all quizzes.
  • The tutorial is composed of six modules, roughly reflecting the same content as the previous set of courses.
  • Faculty still set their own deadlines when assigning this to students or offering as extra credit.
  • Students demonstrate proof of completion by uploading screenshot of grades per your instructions--same as it always was.

Enroll in the Research Skills Tutorial by clicking https://modesto.instructure.com/enroll/G3H6MF. Once the link is clicked, users confirm their enrollment, after which the tutorial displays on the user's Canvas dashboard.
