One of the newer titles is this vol.ume, Global Pandemics and Epidemics and How They Relate To You (2020), offers basic consumer health information about widespread disease outbreaks and their associated threats, as well as information about disease management and advice about what to do when infectious diseases spread rapidly to many people. We think you'll like the essay "The 1918 Flu Pandemic: Why It Matters 100 Years Later."
And then there's the 2021 edition of The Gale Encyclopedia of Science, which has an overview of the current pandemic, "COVID-19 Global Pandemic" Both of these sources contain useful, academic background information and facts to help you navigate the current public health situation.
