Tutor 850 is a NO cost, zero-unit shell course that gives you access to our full array of tutoring services (subject tutoring, writing center help, and supplemental instruction).
You must enroll in Tutor 850 if you want to use tutoring services available from the MJC Library & Learning Center.
Enrolling in Tutor 850 allows the Library & Learning Center to get funding from the State of California that enables us to offer our tutoring services.
Tutor 850 will show on your Unofficial transcript, but it will NOT appear on your Official transcript.

The Writing Center is the part of the Library & Learning Center where students can get help with all aspects of the writing process.
What You Can Expect From The Writing Center
You will work one-on-one with a trained tutor. Any currently-registered MJC student can make an appointment to work with a tutor on any aspect of writing including:
Trained tutors will help you with your writing but will not write your paper for you. They will empower you to be a more skillful writer.
During the COVID emergency, Writing Center appointments are available online using Zoom.

NetTutor is an online tutoring platform that is available to all MJC students as a supplementary tutoring service for students who cannot utilize MJC's math and English tutoring services during the days and hours in which MJC tutoring is available.
You'll find NetTutor in the course navigation menu of your Canvas courses. (Note: If you don't see it in one course, check another one or ask your teacher).
If you use NetTutor for English Literature, Writing, or Math, the hours for accessing NetTutor have changed. NetTutor is now available as after-hours support for these three subjects. Please see below for NetTutor accessible hours.
