The MJC Library has many textbooks and other materials on reserve in both the East and West Campus branches. Most check out for two hours and must remain in the library, but some have loan periods of 1, 3, or 7 days. To find out if we have what you need, do a reserve search. Go to WorldCat, then click on the Course Reserves link shown below.
You can also click the Reserves: Textbooks & More link on the Library & Learning Center home page.
The search box allows you to search four ways but not all the searches function properly. Your best choice is usually Instructor Name.
In the box below, I entered guy (the last name of an MJC instructor), then clicked Search Course Reserves. I only want courses that are active this semester, so I did not check the box to include inactive courses.
There are 6 results for guy; the first three are displayed below. I am looking for Todd Guy's classes, not Ryan Guy's, so I'll skip past #1. If I'm in COMM 102, I click #3.
Professor Guy's items are shown below. Click Course Details to see which campus has these items. You can see the year each book was published, but not the edition.
To see the edition, click on the first title. Below the call number is a note that this is the 14th edition of Communicate!. You can see it is available on East Campus at the Checkout Desk, it can be borrowed for 2 hours, and all four copies are currently available. Reserve materials are kept behind the checkout desk. To request this book, tell our staff the title of the book and the call number (PC Verderber); they will get it for you.
You can also search by prefix, but you have to enter the abbreviation for the department exactly as you see it in on the schedule, such as thetr, below.
A search displays all courses in the theatre department with materials on reserve, such as these:
