You can search WorldCat without signing in but signing in offers additional features.
My Account lets you
See due dates of items checked out
Renew materials yourself
Check status of holds
See any fines or fees you owe
My Personal Lists lets you
Create lists of items in WorldCat (e.g. items you want to check out)
Explore lists others have created (maybe on topics of interest to you)
You can also place items you find in WorldCat on hold after you sign in. We will have them waiting for you at the library branch you choose (East Campus or West). Look under My Account to find out when your holds are available; we'll also send you an email.
The first time you sign in to WorldCat, you will need to set a password.
Click the Sign In button in the top right corner.
In the ID field, enter your w# without the w. Select Set/reset Password.
Enter your ID again in the next box (w# without the w); select Request new password.
Access your school email on your computer or any other device. You will find a confirmation email from Library Password Management. Select the link in the email to get to the screen below. Enter the same ID again in the first box (User Name); create a password and enter it on the second and third lines. Select Change Password.
NOTE: You are responsible for your password. Library staff have no way of looking it up. If you forget it, you can reset it at any time. You might consider making it the same as your PiratesNet password so you don't have another password to remember.
Now that you have set your library password, go back to the Sign In button and enter your ID and password to access your library account. You'll notice your first name now appears in the button that used to say Sign In.
