Share Your OER

Sharing Existing Learning Objects

Open Educational Resources imageYou probably have already created potential OER and just haven't thought about them as resources you might be able to share! OER take the shape of different resources, including (but not limited to):

  • Syllabi and courses created (for example, if you created a class on WWI Literature, it might be useful for others to see your assigned readings and activities)
  • Videos/tutorials on a specific topic
  • Worksheets
  • Group activities
  • Writing prompts
  • Tests, quizzes, and other assessments
  • Lesson plans
  • Research assignments and activities

MJC OER Group

MJC has its own Group in the OER Commons, where MJC faculty can share their OER. If you've found or created an OER that you use and you'd like to share it with your colleagues, please do. By sharing, we're all able to learn from each other.

Get Started By Creating An Account

You'll want to create an account in the OER Commons, so that you can use its full capabilities.

The video below will show you how to create your OER Commons profile.

Join the MJC Group

Hubs & Groups:

Once you enter the OER Commons, take a look at the navigation bar at the top of the screen. You'll see a drop-down menu for Hubs and Groups.

What is a Hub?

A Hub is a custom resource center where groups can create and share collections associated with a project or organization to meet their common goals.

What is a Group?

A group is a community space where members of the group engage with each other through Discussions and share resources. Groups reside inside Hubs, sort of like a subset of a larger hub.
